Actor Vijay has contributed a sum of Rs 1.3 crore to PM-CARES Fund and Chief Minister’s Relief Funds to combat the deadly coronavirus.
The novel coronavirus outbreak has brought everyone’s life to a standstill. Many film bodies requested actors for donation to help the daily wage workers. Recently, Thalapathy Vijay donated Rs 1.30 crore to PM-CARES and Chief Minister’s Relief Funds of different states.
A few weeks ago, Tamil actors Ajith, Sivakarthikeyan, Suriya, Karthi and others were in the news for their monetary help to fight the war against Covid-19. Thalapathy Vijay is the latest entrant to lend financial help to people who are in dire need.
Vijay has donated Rs 50 lakh to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Rs 25 lakh to PM-CARES Fund. He has also contributed Rs 10 lakh to Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
In addition, Vijay has pledged Rs 25 lakh to FEFSI (Film Employees Federation of South India) to improve the livelihood of daily wagers, who are the most affected in the coronavirus war.
The Sarkar actor has also given Rs 5 lakh each to Karanataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Pondicherry Chief Minister’s Relief Funds. His fan clubs across Tamil Nadu are involved in relief efforts. Vijay’s generous contribution has won the hearts of many and his fans are taking to social media to appreciate his effort.
In India, the coronavirus positive cases are about to hit 20,000 and 640 people have lost their lives to the disease.
