Kolkata: China man is one of the most difficult bowlers to pick for a batsman and Kuldeep proved it today with some great variations deceiving the Australian batsman.  He immediately made an impact by picking up the crucial wicket of David Warner. Later deceived Maxwell and Handscomb to turn the first day’s play in India’s favour. Not too many people would have thought that Kuldeep Yadav would be included in the eleven for the final test and his inclusion came as a big surprise. With his debut, Kuldeep Yadav has joined the likes of Sir Garfield Sobbers, Paul Adams , Lakshan Sandakan and Brad Hogg among the China man bowlers to have played test match cricket. Expect him to grab a lot of eyeballs when he will be playing for Kolkata Knight Riders during the 10th season of Indian Premier League.

It is surprising to see that a country like India has not been able to produce this kind of bowler so far. Kuldeep Yadav, the 22-year-old left-arm chinaman bowler from Uttar Pradesh, was handed a Test debut for the fourth and final test match between India and Australia in Dharamsala. He has become the 288th test player for India.

    What is Chinaman?

Chinaman is an art in which a left-arm bowler bowls wrist spin just like right-arm bowlers bowl leg spin. It is an unorthodox bowling style as the bowler uses his wrist to generate spin rather than his fingers. The direction of the turn after pitching the ball is from off to leg stump.
