Skoda Kodiaq SUV is slated to launch in India by the end of this year which will be pitted against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
Skoda Auto India today give the technical details of the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq SUV which is slated to launch in India by the end of this 2017. The upcoming Kodiaq SUV will be Czech based car maker’s official entry in the SUV segment for the domestic market which will take on the rivals like Ford Endeavour, Santa Fe and Toyota Fortuner. The car maker will also introduce Skoda Octavia RS in India by the end of this month with deliveries commencing next month. The company also took this opportunity to announce the arrival of Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo which is likely to launch by the mid of this year.
The upcoming 7-seater SUV will be based on VW’s popular MQB platform. The company has also started the testing phase of the SUV, as it has been spotted while testing on Indian roads in the past which gave clear details regarding the exterior design and looks. Moreover, a fresh batch of spy images has emerged on the net which reveals the interiors of the SUV for the very first time.
The upcoming Kodiaq SUV will flaunt Skoda’s top-notch premium interior cabin which will be complemented by 8-inch touchscreen which is expected to be Skoda Connect touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The images also reveal that the spied unit is equipped with all-wheel drive system with DSG automatic transmission. It also gets multi-functional steering wheel which is likely to be offered across the variants.
The SUV will be offered with a choice of 3 petrol and 2 diesel engines with power ranging from 123 bhp to 188 bhp. On the other hand, Skoda India has also announced the arrival of Octavia RS in the Indian market by the end of this month. The sporty avatar of Octavia will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options – 2.0-litre TSI petrol & 2.0-litre TDI diesel. The new sedan is expected to flaunt a sporty look due to a stylish body kit, bigger rims and a dual exhaust.
