There have been four generations of Moto G smartphones so far and now Motorola, which is now a Lenovo-owned company, added two new models in its G series at the recently concluded MWC 2017 naming Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. The original Moto G was unveiled back in early 2014 and its high-end features down to an affordable price. The Moto G (Gen 2) and Moto G (Gen 3) brought some conscious design changes, but the Moto G4 series came with features like a fingerprint scanner. The fifth generation, the Moto G has finally been replaced plastic body with a metal body.

India one of the biggest user of the Moto G series and in the last three years over a million units of the Moto G have been sold in India. From design to hardware, it looks strikingly handsome smart phone among users. It is also the first smartphone in its price category to launch with Android Nougat. Powered by a 3000 mAh battery along with TurboPower technology, The Moto G5 Plus users can use multiple apps simultaneously without worrying about lag as it’s powered by a blazing-fast 2.0 GHz octa-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon processor and has powerful graphics capabilities. Moto G5 Plus has a 5.2 inch IPS LCD Full HD screen with 1,080×1,920 pixel resolution; the display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3, comes with a water-repellent nano coating. Motorola Moto G5 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with an Adreno 506 GPU. There are two configurations based on RAM and internal storage – 3GB RAM/16GB storage and 4GB RAM/32GB storage, and both support microSD cards of up to 128GB in size.

The new Moto G5 plus sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with a feature of Dual Autofocus Pixels, has an f/1.7 aperture and dual LED flash. There is also a 5-megapixel front camera with an f/2.2 aperture and display flash. It offers 8X digital zoom and an active viewfinder, which can recognise QR codes and bar codes. On the Moto G5 Plus which has adjusted settings like the white balance, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, and manual focus.

The Motorola Moto G5 Plus packs a 3,000mAh battery, lasted for almost an entire day with moderate to heavy use. This phone also comes with a TurboPower charger that charges up to 6 hours of battery in just about 15 minutes so you can always be on the move. Its Moto Actions feature makes everyday interactions more convenient as user can open their camera with just a twist of the wrist and just chop down twice to get a torch. Also, user can just place this phone face down to activate the “Do Not Disturb” mode or pick up the phone when it rings to immediately switch to vibrate mode.

Moto G5 Plus (Fine Gold) with 32 GB and 4 GB RAM is available at online seller Flipkart. According to the company website it is available at ₹16,999 and also has an option of EMIs which starts from 825/month.
