As part of Reliance’s #CoronaHaaregaIndiaJeetega initiative, JioFiber has announced that it will offer free broadband connectivity to new users where its services are active. However, it will be a basic connection, providing a speed of up to 10Mbps.
Additionally, for the existing JioFiber users, the company has said it will offer double data irrespective of the plan they have subscribed to.
Jio’s initiative encourages people to stay at home“To ensure that everyone stays connected while at home, Jio will provide Basic JioFiber broadband connectivity (10 Mbps), wherever it is geographically feasible, without any service charges, for this (coronavirus) period,” Reliance Industries Limited said in a statement.
However, users will have to pay for installation
According to Jio, there will be no charges for accessing internet connectivity. However, users will have to pay Rs. 2,500 towards installation charges, which includes a refundable amount of Rs. 1,500. This amount will be credited back to the user at the time of surrendering the connection.
The company will also provide home gateway routers with a minimum refundable deposit.
