Ford EcoSport 2017 Facelift is slated to launch in India during the festive season which will take on Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Mahindra TUV300.
Ford EcoSport from the house of American car maker was the first compact SUV in the domestic market which was launched in the year 2013. With the introduction of rivals in the same segment, the demand for EcoSport definitely has seen a downward trend. In a bid to regain its lost reign, the car maker is preparing itself to launch the updated version of EcoSport which is expected to hit the Indian market this festive season. As per the media reports, it is also believed that the facelifted EcoSport will get a 1.5-litre Dragon petrol engine. Moreover, the company has also initiated the testing phase of the compact SUV as number spy shots emerged in the past. New spy shots of the sub-4m SUV have surfaced on the internet without camouflage.
Going by these images, we can clearly see that the front-end of the vehicle gets a completely remodeled layout. It now comes with new wraparound headlamps, redesigned bumper which houses new larger fog-lamps, new grille, new LED tail-lamps to name a few. The side profile remains the same, however, expect it to feature new alloy wheels.
Moving towards the cabin, it is here that one is to see what all new the 2017 Ford EcoSport has to offer. The major change to notice will be the entire revamp of the interior design layout. The dashboard, door panels, infotainment system, instrument cluster all are going to be new. Talking about infotainment system, the new Ford EcoSport 2017 will come with the automaker’s new SYNC 3 system, which come with a whole array of connectivity options.
Not only this, the compact SUV will also feature a number of other features, like automatic climate control, steering mounted controls. auto-folding ORVMs, day and night IRVM, leather upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel, rear seat arm rest to name a few. In terms of safety, the new Ford EcoSport 2017 will be offered with 6-airbags, ABS and EBD.
The new 2017 Ford EcoSport will be made available in both petrol as well as diesel engine guises. The petrol derivative will get the same 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine along with the option of the 1.0-litre EcoBoost motor. The diesel derivative however will feature the same 1.5-litre TDCi motor. There will be a 5-speed manual unit, paired as standard to all the engine, however, the 1.5-litre petrol motor can also be chosen with a 6-speed automatic unit.
The new 2017 Ford EcoSport is expected to be priced in the range of INR 6 lakh to 10 lakh. With this, the compact SUV will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Viatara Brezza, Mahindra TUV300 and the soon to be launched Tata Nexon.
