When Harbhajan slapped Sreesanth, 2008:
Harbhajan Singh, leading Mumbai Indians side, allegedly slapped Kings XI paceman S Sreesanth during their Indian Premier League encounter in 2008. Sreesanth was seen crying bitterly on the ground at the end of the IPL match. Kings XI Punjab won that match by 66 runs and it Mumbai Indian’s third successive defeat. It caused a huge furore.
Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell caught in Rave Party, 2012:
Pune Warriors India teammate South African all rounder Wayne Parnell and Indian leg-spinner Rahul Sharma have tested positive for drugs at a rave party held in Mumbai’s suburban Juhu during IPL 2012. They are among the 100-odd people who were detained by the Mumbai Police. The duo refused to have taken any kind of drugs at the party, but the tests which were done later proved that they consumed recreational drugs.
Luke Pomersbach molesting an American Woman, 2011:
Royal Challengers Bangalore player Luke Pomersbach was arrested for allegedly molesting an American woman and severely beating up her fiance. The Australian middle-order batsman allegedly misbehaved with the woman, a US citizen, at a five-star hotel in Delhi. He was arrested by the Delhi Police for molesting a US woman. The incident reportedly happened after the Delhi Daredevils-Royal Challengers Bangalore match.
Shahrukh Khan and the Wankhede episode, 2012:
The Bollywood superstar and co-owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Shah Rukh Khan was allegedly involved in a brawl with the officials of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and security guards after a match between KKR and Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium. The altercation drew enormous attention and became the talk of the town. This led to an enquiry after which the MCA imposed a five years ban on the star studded actor, denying him entry to the venue for a span of five years.
Spot-Fixing and Sreesanth’s Arrest:
Indian pacer S Sreesanth and two of his Rajasthan Royals teammates Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan was arrested by the Delhi police on the charges of spot fixing in the Indian Premier League 2013. Things turned really ugly in 2013, when a news channel conducted a sting operation revealing the involvement of several bookies and players in Spot-Fixing. Sreesanth has been handed a life ban by the BCCI for his involvement in spot-fixing in IPL 2013.
